University of Pittsburgh Announces Five U.S. Patents Issued to Pitt Innovators in June 2025

Pitt innovators were issued 5 U.S. patents in June 2025.

Featured patent: 12,329,730: Thermoresponsive Hydrogel Containing Polymer Microparticles for Controlled Drug Delivery

Pitt innovators are developing a dual-component drug delivery system for single-dose treatment of inner-ear infections. The innovation includes polymer-based microspheres and a thermo-responsive hydrogel that provides sustained release of antibiotics over two weeks.
