Intellectual Property Docketor & Government Compliance Assistant

Laura Guerrero is part of Intellectual Property Team and Compliance Team inside Innovation Institute. She provides administrative support to both department as Docketor and Assistant to the licensing managers, assists in the invention disclosure federal reporting process, and is part of the Innovation Institute’s Technology Transfer Committee (TTC) meetings, held monthly to evaluate invention disclosures submitted by Pitt faculty, staff and students. Laura came to the Innovation Institute in 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Law from Los Andes University in Venezuela and a master’s degree in Intellectual Property from same university.

With more than 14 years of experience on intellectual property inside oil & gas industry in Latin America and more than 4 years in a private law firm in Venezuela she joins University of Pittsburgh OIE, seeking learning opportunities in this new field of federal compliances and to help and improve IP docketing tasks.

Laura lives in Florida with her husband, and two daughters.  She enjoys swim and gets to beach, also she is a big fan of theme parks.  She is an active volunteer in Latin community and organizations developing projects to help and improve lives and job opportunities.
