Licensing Manager

Kate Gadacz is a Licensing Manager for the Innovation Institute, within the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.  In her role, Kate promotes the commercialization of the University of Pittsburgh’s intellectual property (IP) by performing IP analyses and licensing.  Most recently, Kate held the position of Director of Intellectual Property and Contracts at the University of Notre Dame’s IDEA Center.  While at Notre Dame she helped to scale their commercialization process by advertising technologies, negotiating license deals, managing the IP portfolio, and performing patentability assessments. She is a registered Patent Agent, and an inventor herself.  Kate holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame and a B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Ohio University.
