Executive Director, Innovation Commercialization
Alex Ducruet is Executive Director for Licensing and Innovation Commercialization for the University of Pittsburgh Innovation Institute, where he is responsible for managing intellectual property protection and commercialization activities for the University. Dr. Ducruet joined the Innovation Institute as a Technology Licensing Manager in 2005. Prior to that, Dr. Ducruet was a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Pittsburgh, where he studied cancer biology and the molecular mechanisms of natural product anticancer agents, as well as collaborated in multiple drug discovery programs. Dr. Ducruet received his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan, his Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Certified Licensing Professional and a Registered Technology Transfer Professional.
