The University of Pittsburgh announced that Pitt innovators were issued seven patents in November 2018.
Featured Patent: U.S. 10,137,236 “Self-Regulating Device for Modulating Inflammation”
The innovators, led by Yoram Vodovotz, Professor of Surgery, Immunology, Computational and Systems Biology and Bioengineering, have conceived a medical device that employs mathematical models of inflammation to create negative feedback proportional to the degree of inflammatory stimulus that has potential applications for acute inflammatory diseases such as sepsis or trauma, chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer. For more information on this technology, including licensing, contact Maria Vanegas at mvanegas@innovation.pitt.edu.
