Michael C. Yeomans

Marketing and Special Events Manager

As Marketing and Special Events Manager, Michael Yeomans is responsible for communicating the Innovation Institute’s mission of fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at Pitt, both internally to educate Pitt Innovators about the programs and resources to assist them on their entrepreneurial journey, and externally to engage potential commercialization partners who may be interested in Pitt-developed innovations. A graduate of Allegheny College with a degree in history, Michael joined the Innovation Institute in 2015, having previously served as a marketing communications manager at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to CMU, Michael enjoyed a 7-year career in the corporate affairs office of the H.J. Heinz Company, where he served as chief speechwriter and then as manager of the company’s signature corporate social responsibility program, the Heinz Micronutrient Campaign. Michael began his career in journalism and was an award winning business reporter at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Michael, a father of four, serves on the board of directors for the North Hills School District and can be heard plucking a bass guitar in his spare time.
