Julie Cramer, PhD, MS

Technology Commercialization Associate

Julie Cramer, PhD, MS,  is a Technology Commercialization Associate, supporting commercialization alliances with UPMC and evaluating technologies for suitability in these collaborations. Prior to joining the Innovation Institute, Julie worked with sci-Velo, a program of the Innovation Institute, accelerating translational research by identifying, cultivating and advancing Pitt’s most promising life and health sciences translational research to market-ready solutions. Prior to sciVelo, Julie worked at Pitt-spinout NanoVision Diagnostics, where she performed business and technology development, as well as data analysis. Julie has a PhD in Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh, focused on human intestinal stem cells and their relation to intestinal cancer. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biology at Youngstown State University. Julie is very involved in the Pittsburgh chapter of Women In Bio, dedicated to promoting knowledge sharing among women, impacting regional economic growth and stimulating empowerment among women leaders through entrepreneurship, innovation, education and mentorship.
