Shelley M. Taylor

Family Business Consultant

Shelley Taylor is the Family Business Consultant at the IEE, working with business-owning families on governance, structure, role clarity, next generation development, generational transitions, and family councils. She started at the IEE in 2000 as the Education Program Director, and has also held the positions of Peer Forum Director and Membership Director. Shelley is an astute listener and a strategic thinker who fosters collaboration and promotes understanding and appreciation of the varied perspectives inherent in multi-generational families.

In addition to her role at the IEE, Shelley is an Associate with the Aspen Family Business Group, an international group of practitioners providing consulting resources for family businesses. She is the Family Council Chair for ABARTA, Inc., a third- and fourth-generation family business in Pittsburgh, serves as an independent director for a local private family business, and is a former Chair and currently on the board of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.

Shelley holds an Advanced Certificate in Family Business Advising (ACFBA) from the Family Firm Institute and is an FFI Fellow.
