Dee Schlotter

Dee manages the development and posting of marketing briefs in coordination with the Innovation team’s science writer.  She will work closely with the team’s needs and priorities to gain more visibility and preference of the new inventions and technologies available for licensing with industries and build awareness of the Pitt IP portfolio with the support of the full marketing team.

With more than 25 years of marketing and technical service experience from PPG where she led the global color forecasting team and various product and color marketing roles for the architectural coatings division, Dee’s segment-specific, customer-driven focus increased market share and attention as well as delivering year-over-year increases in media placements.

Dee earned a B.A. in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.S. Environmental Science Management from Duquesne University.  Most recently, she has completed horticultural and biophilic design courses from Colorado State University and the International Living Futures Institute.

Dee lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, son and dog.  She teaches yoga and loves to hike and bike in anything green and tree-filled.  She is an active volunteer in community development projects including affordable housing and conservation projects.
