Marc Malandro serves as the Founding Director of the University of Pittsburgh Innovation Institute and the Vice Chancellor for Technology Management and Commercialization at the University of Pittsburgh. He has been with the University since 2004 in positions including the Director of the Office of Technology Management and Office of Enterprise Development, Health Sciences. Dr. Malandro is an Adjunct Professor with appointments in the Schools of the Health Sciences, Swanson School of Engineering, and Katz Graduate School of Business. He is Chairman of the Pennsylvania Bio Board of Directors and serves on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Technology Council. He is a Certified Licensing Professional and Registered Technology Transfer Professional. Prior to joining the University, Dr. Malandro co-founded Sagres Discovery, a systems biology company focused on the understanding of the molecular basis of cancer, where he served as Vice President of Technology and Strategic Alliances and was involved in all aspects of intellectual property, licensing and alliance management. Dr. Malandro has a B.S. and M.S. in Biological Sciences from Youngstown State University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Florida.
