As Scientific Writer and Technology Marketing Associate, Erin creates marketing materials and coordinates marketing efforts for new technology developed at the University of Pittsburgh. She joined the Innovation Institute in 2017 after working as a freelance science journalist and medical writer. Prior to focusing on science communication, Erin engaged in original scientific research for over a decade, investigating the electrophysiological mechanisms that underlie vision, eye movements, and breathing rhythms in the brain. Erin holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Neuroscience and Mathematics from The College of William & Mary.
